Introducing Oliver Matthew Boyd 9.21.2015

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.    -James 1:17

My family is happy to announce that on September 21st our family grew from four to five as we welcomed Oliver Matthew into the world at eight pounds, 20.5 inches long. People always want to know where the choice of a name came from and the meaning behind the name so here is the brief reason and meaning behind his name.

In English the meaning of the name Oliver is: The olive tree. The biblical olive tree symbolizes fruitfulness and beauty and dignity. 'Extending an olive branch' signifies an offer of peace. We chose this name for few reasons. First, because it is a name that you do not hear often and one that we naturally liked. Second, because we desire our son to have a name with a strong meaning. Third, we desire to see Oliver be a man of dignity that keeps peace with others as he loves Jesus.

The name Matthew is a Hebrew name meaning Gift of the Lord. Oliver is our newest gift of the Lord to our family and to the world as we are praying he will surrender to the calling of the Lord early in his life.

Together the name Oliver Matthew makes up a name meaning a "peaceful gift of the Lord." We are thankful and blessed to have this newest gift in our lives and pray that he will be a gift to others.

We our excited as our family has grown from four to five and ask that you pray for us as we go through many transitions in the coming days. We know that we have been given a great responsibility in raising Oliver Matthew and seek to raise him in a godly way.
