Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. -2 Corinthians 5:17-19
At the fall of man, when sin entered the world, everything as it was intended to be by God was no longer. But since that time God has been reconciling all things to himself through Christ Jesus. For those in Christ, we are the ambassadors, the representatives of Christ on earth. In other words it is also our job to see the Kingdom in our city as it is in Heaven as we seek to see all things reconciled to God.
If I had to be completely honest, as Christians, there are many aspects of life where we do a horrible job of reconciling all things to Christ. Art through music and movies is a great example. There is a reason that only your Christian friends know about or want to watch or listen to music or movies that are titled "Christian." The reason is that most of them are not creative or of good quality, many at best are a cheap rip-off of the popular, secular movies.
As those in Christ we, ourselves, are a new creation, and should seek to reconcile all things lost through Christ. This idea should naturally play out into all spheres of life and instead of being known for what we are against, we should strive to be known as those that reconcile all things as the ambassadors of Christ. This is God's mission and it should be our mission.
