Book Giveaway: A Call to Resurgence

Mark Driscoll's new book, A Call to Resurgence: Will Christianity Have A Funeral or A Future?, officially releases tomorrow. This has been a book that I have been excited about since I first heard of it being written and because I am so excited, I am giving away one copy via Kindle format. Driscoll delivers a wake up call for every believer: We are living in a post-Christian culture-a culture fundamentally at odds with faith in Jesus.

This is good and bad news. The good news is that God is still working, redeeming people from this spiritual wasteland and inspiring a resurgence of faithful believers. The bad news is that many believers just don’t get it. They continue to gather exclusively into insular tribes, lobbing e-bombs at each other in cyberspace.

Mark’s book is a clarion call for Christians. It’s time to get to work. We can only do this if we unite around Jesus and the essentials found in his Word, while at the same time, appreciating the distinctives within each Christian tribe. Mark shows us how to do just that. This isn’t the time to wait or debate. Join the resurgence.

To win the copy of A Call to Resurgence you need to do one or both of the following:

1. Leave a comment on this post. Include your name and email in the form, and tell us whether you think Christianity is headed for a funeral or a future. And, why?

2. Tweet or Share on Facebook. Point people to the giveaway. You can specifically share this: "Enter to win a free copy of Mark Driscoll's book, A Call to Resurgence." Hint: The only way that I can definitely know whether or not that you shared this is by you doing step 1 above or if you tag or mention me when you share it.

Entries are cut off Wednesday morning at 9am (EST), and a winner will be announced shortly after in the comments section below.

  1. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that Christianity is headed for a future, because in Matthew 16:18, Jesus says that the gates of Hades will not overcome it. Now, whether Christians will continue to stand up and live out their faith passionately and in a biblical way remains to be seen. I'm praying towards that end. I'm looking forward to reading this book and would love to win. Thanks for putting this giveaway on!

  2. Christianity as a whole is headed overseas. In America we have lost our foundation for religion. We can see it all across the landscape with major awakenings coming through Pastors like David Platt and Mark Driscoll, and Francis Chan who aren’t great speakers but are speakers getting ‘real’ with people. Religion causes dead people to stay dead but faith in Christ causes dead people to come alive and leave their burial clothes and tombs behind. In South America and Asia Christianity is on fire. People are encountering Christ in a supernatural way. Churches all across the US are doing short missions trip and seeing the desperate and need for Christ overseas but then come home and get furious with how materialistic and consumer driven our church bodies have become. If America doesn’t humble itself before God then it is going to for a funeral before my children have children. If we as a nation start to live out our faith and surrender we will see the greatest awakening that will shake this planet.

  3. I will say I do not think Christianity is headed for a funeral but its future has many "popular"obstacles distracting the Christian (many came to mind in the video clip). It may be that these " " things have always been trying to block Christianity but today's young people are on fire for other things & passionately post these passions onto FB, twitter, insert any other social media here, & as they claim to follow Christ they seem to miss His teachings & do what feels right as to not offend others. -Shannon (soncrazed@aoldotcom)

  4. Congratulations to Kyle Wassom, you are the winner! Thanks to all of you that tweeted, shared, or left a comment in order to have a chance to win. Be on the lookout for more giveaways in the future.
